Maindee Primary School are looking to appoint a Level 3 teaching assistant on a fixed term basis to support . We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible and well-qualified individual to support the work of the school. Experience in a level 3 role is desirable.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with early years pupils who understands the importance of developing excellent relationships and applying the principles of nurture to their work. Experience of working with young pupils and knowledge of what makes highly effective early years practice is an essential part of this role. We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible individual to support the work of the school who is willing to learn. You must be calm and approachable and passionate about wanting each child to experience success every day and have the knowledge, skills and experience to contribute to the work of the wider school team.
The broad outline of the role will be working to support pupils within the Nursery class. Full training will be provided to ensure that you are able to meet the needs of the child effectively as part of the wider school team.
Please outline in your application your specific qualifications, knowledge and school based experiences that are relevant to the post. It is essential that you are open to change and flexibility.
The working hours are set out as 8.30 - 3.30 daily with a requirement to stay for two one hour meetings per week making the role at 34.5 hour a week position. The post is advertised to start on 5th January 2026 or as soon as possible.
