About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils' learning and development, including those with additional needs. Your role will involve:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support.
- Assisting with classroom activities and learning resources.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
- Helping to create an inclusive and nurturing environment.
- 19 hours per week, proposed between 8:45 am and 12:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. 8:45 am - 1pm Friday.
- Hours can be combined with the Playgroup role currently advertised on Pembrokeshire County Council's website for those seeking additional work.
- A warm, caring, and patient approach to supporting children's learning, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude, working effectively as part of a team to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Experience of supporting children in a classroom setting and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- The flexibility to adapt to changing situations and pupil needs, combined with the initiative to take proactive steps when required.
- Resilience and a calm, positive approach under pressure, with empathy to understand and respond to individual needs.
- Attention to detail when following plans and recording progress, and enthusiasm for helping every child succeed.
