Applications for Cohort 3 of the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) Wales are now open. This statutory qualification is essential for anyone seeking a permanent headteacher role in Wales and offers a bespoke, 18-month programme designed to develop outstanding school leaders.
Delivered by Dysgu, NPQH Wales combines three residential events, elective modules, a school-based headship project, and comprehensive 360° assessments. You’ll benefit from expert coaching, collaborative learning, and tailored feedback throughout, ensuring you’re fully prepared for the challenges and opportunities of headship.
Applications are welcomed from senior school leaders from maintained schools across Wales who believe that they can evidence relevant experience to meet the professional standards for formal leadership and for whom headship is a realistic next step, for example, members of senior leadership teams.
Applications are also welcomed from those who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and who have the necessary experience to lead a school gained through work in other organisations within the education system, for example, local authorities and partnerships, Estyn.
This is your chance to gain the skills and confidence to lead a school successfully and make a real difference in Welsh education.
