About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Administration & Organisation Assistant to join our team at Johnston CP School. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our school by providing essential clerical, administrative, and organisational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake reception duties, including answering routine telephone and face-to-face enquiries and signing in visitors.
  • Assist with pupil welfare and first aid duties, liaising with parents and staff as needed.
  • Provide general clerical support such as photocopying, filing, emailing, and completing routine forms.
  • Maintain manual and computerised records and management information systems.
  • Undertake typing, word processing, and other IT-based tasks.
  • Sort and distribute mail and assist with routine administration (e.g., registers, school meals).
  • Operate office equipment and ensure secure storage of supplies.
  • Undertake routine financial administration, such as collecting and recording dinner money.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in general clerical or administrative work.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Basic IT and keyboard skills, with the ability to use office equipment effectively.
  • Knowledge of first aid (or willingness to undertake training).
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team and relate well to children and adults.

Grade 2 - £24,413 for 21 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £12,171.19 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £12,436.94 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.
