The Governors of Litchard Primary School are seeking to appoint an inspiring, reflective, and dedicated Assistant Headteacher to join our ambitious and caring leadership team.

Litchard Primary School is a thriving two-form entry school with approximately 460 pupils aged 3–11. We are proud of our inclusive ethos and diverse community, drawing families from Coity, Pendre and Wildmill. Our dedicated team includes experienced leaders, talented teachers, and a strong support staff committed to pupil well-being and achievement.

The Role

Work closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to drive school improvement and deliver high-quality learning experiences.

Lead and support areas of school development, including curriculum design, data tracking, and whole-school standards.

Play a key role in safeguarding and supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

Model excellent classroom practice and inspire others to maintain the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Analyse performance data to inform strategic decisions.

Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

Contribute to a positive school ethos that promotes well-being, inclusion, and lifelong learning.

We Are Seeking Someone Who

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has a proven record of outstanding classroom practice.

Has recent and relevant leadership experience.

Has experience of working with pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

Demonstrates the ability to lead others effectively.

Is committed to promoting well-being, equity, and pupil voice.

Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Uses assessment and data effectively.

Is innovative, reflective, and resilient.

Shares the school’s commitment to the Curriculum for Wales and the four purposes.
