Casllwchwr is an English-medium primary school located in the community of Loughor, Swansea. Casllwchwr is a happy, friendly and inclusive school where we value pupil voice, and we are committed to improving the life opportunities for the children in our care.

The Governing Body and pupils are seeking an enthusiastic, outstanding and inspirational teacher to join our Progression Step 3 team in February 2026.

Candidates are asked to outline their own philosophy of primary education, their experience and the qualities they would bring to the school.

The post requires:
  • An excellent practitioner who has a sound knowledge of how children learn.
  • A practitioner with high expectations of achievement and behaviour and a commitment to developing the emotional and physical well-being of pupils.
  • The ability to maintain effective communication and working strategies with colleagues.
  • An awareness of Curriculum for Wales.
  • A commitment to innovative pedagogy.
  • A willingness to participate fully in the life of our school community (including after school clubs) and contribute to the strong team ethos.
  • A sound work ethic plus adaptability and flexibility, to ensure the smooth running of our school.
  • A good standard of Welsh as a first or second language to maintain the school's bilingual standards.
  • Very good interpersonal skills and a sense of humour.

Beneficial skills:
  • Developing an Area of Learing and Experience across the whole school.
  • Developing the creative aspects of the curriculum such as P.E.
  • A high level of IT skills.
