Salary Details: Scale: BS22-BS25 (currently £29,440 - £31,878 pro rata)

Contract Type: Salaried - Permanent

Hours of work: Full time - 37 hours per week

Qualifications:

• Minimum level 3 qualification in Welding, Fabrication or related Engineering discipline
• If not held, to undertake and successfully complete a full First Aid Certificate and Health & Safety Qualification within an agreed timescale

• Relevant experience and qualifications in gas supply systems for workshops including manifold and portable bottle supplies

Experience:

• Extensive experience in welding and fabrication including MMA, TIG, and MIG processes
• Experience of maintaining and repairing engineering equipment
• Experience with gas supply systems in workshop environments including manifold systems and portable bottle management
• Experience of working with young people

• Understanding of health and safety requirements in engineering workshops

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Suitable to work with children and vulnerable adults
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials
• Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the curriculum

Details:

To provide specialist technical support and oversight across the Welding and Fabrication facilities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality learning environment. The post holder will oversee the daily operation of the technical function within Mechanical, Welding and Marine and ensure compliance with college policies, health and safety legislation, and awarding body requirements.
Applicants with Welsh language verbal communication skills at intermediate/advanced/fluent level are particularly welcome. We welcome applications in Welsh and English.
