Brief overview:
A two year full time Apprentice Leisure Assistant position has arisen for any enthusiastic, vibrant, hardworking person. The position is a great opportunity to enter, and receive a thorough grounding in the Leisure and Recreation Industry. There will be plenty of opportunities to develop both general and specific skills within the staff development programme
Job role will include:
The main duties of the posts are to assist in the preparation of the facilities in the leisure centre such as:
Lifeguarding the centre’s extensive swimming programme (applicant must pass Royal Life Saving Society course in the first 3 months – RLSS)
Assist local schools, customers and sports clubs by erecting and dismantling sports equipment in the following areas: Indoor 4g, outdoor 4g, athletics track, James Alexander Barr tennis centre and synthetic hockey pitch
Assist Eirias’ events team during large music events, international and regional sporting events, business conferences and trade shows
Improve the physical and mental wellbeing of young people by helping to deliver a range of sport camps during school holidays
Essential criteria:
Good communication skills in English
Good customer care skills
Physically fit
Ability to swim
Desirable personal qualities:
Experience in a similar leisure facility
Good communication skills in Welsh
Current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard or equivalent
Current first aid qualification
Coaching qualifications
Qualifications to be undertaken:
RLSS pool lifeguard
Mandatory health & safety course
Mandatory safeguarding course
Essential skills wales qualifications
