The Governing Body of Gelliswick Church in Wales VC School is seeking an experienced, values driven and highly motivated Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the continued success of our inclusive Church school and to lead with purpose, compassion and ambition.

Our vision is to nurture children with strong values who care for others, achieve highly and grow in hope. We are looking for a leader who will confidently develop our Church school ethos, ensuring our values are lived out daily and that all members of our community flourish spiritually, emotionally and academically. The role includes a teaching commitment.
The successful candidate will:

• Provide inspirational, strategic leadership with a commitment to high standards for pupils, staff and the wider school community
• Champion pupil wellbeing and demonstrate strong understanding of trauma informed practice
• Promote an inclusive culture, ensuring equity and excellence for all learners
• Work in partnership with pupils, staff, governors, parents, the Church and the wider community
• Lead high quality teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum development in line with Curriculum for Wales
• Support staff to design meaningful learning experiences that secure strong progress
• Lead impactful professional learning that builds collaboration and reflective practice
• Promote and support the development of the Welsh language and culture across the school and community
• Model enthusiasm, resilience and excellent interpersonal skills
• Be an excellent primary practitioner with high aspirations for pupils and colleagues
• Demonstrate successful collaborative leadership with a strong record of improving outcomes
• Evaluate impact effectively and communicate outcomes clearly
• Apply deep knowledge of children's learning and development, including for those with additional or complex needs
• Build positive, trusting relationships with families to improve pupils' experiences and outcomes
