Flying Start Playgroup Leader - St Marks VA Primary School

Salary: Grade 6 - £28,142 - £31,022

Grade 6 - £28,142 for 12.5 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £8,351.37 pro rata.

The Governing Body and Headteacher of St. Mark's VA Church in Wales Primary School are seeking to appoint the role of Flying Start Leader to oversee the delivery of Flying Start Care and Education for children aged 2-3 Years at our school site Flying Start Centre at St. Mark's (St. Mark's Little Lions)

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, knowledgeable and motivated individual to become the new leader of our Flying Start setting, which serves up to 26 children in our community between the ages of 2 and 3. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and Governing Body to establish an excellent Flying Start setting. This will follow best practice through Care Inspectorate Wales (CiW) standards and is an opportunity for someone to lead on creating a highly motivated and knowledgeable team, who put children first.

Experience of working in a Flying Start setting is desirable, as is the ability to lead a team. You should also have a sound understanding of the role of The Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and its regulations relating to Flying Start Provision.

The successful applicant must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Childcare and Education or equivalent qualification. You should hold up-to-date training in Safeguarding, Food Safety, and Paediatric First Aid, however, this is not essential and full training can be given.

This post is Monday - Friday and 12.5 hours per week initially however, the aim is to extend provision to include afternoon wrap around care as soon as possible once our Flying Start morning sessions are established.
