The governors of Dylan Thomas Community School wish to appoint a dynamic and inspirational leader who will continue to raise aspirations and ensure consistently outstanding learning opportunities and experiences for all students.
We are looking for a committed professional who can demonstrate evidence of improving performance and raising standards for every member of the school community. We wish to appoint an exceptional headteacher, with excellent leadership skills and high aspirations for our students, staff, parents and carers, who will continue to maintain the ethos and character of our popular school. We are seeking to appoint a leader with wide-ranging school leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
Dylan Thomas Community School is a happy and safe school where the needs of all pupils are catered for and taken into account. All staff play a key part in ensuring that this continues. The successful candidate will be offered the full support and resources of the school to develop professionally in a highly supportive environment with inspirational and supportive colleagues.
In our February 2024 Inspection, Estyn stated that "Staff at Dylan Thomas Community School offer pupils a consistently high quality of Care, Support & Guidance. The school has an inclusive family feel and there are strong relationships between pupils and staff" The successful candidate will add to this and will also benefit from a strong, supportive staff wellbeing programme.
Dylan Thomas is a rapidly growing and successful school with committed staff which has seen a dramatic increase in pupil numbers and significant investment in facilities over the last three years. The school is oversubscribed in nearly all year groups. We have high expectations of all members of our school community with an emphasis on strong relationships and inclusivity.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader, fully committed to the academic success, care and welfare of all our students and staff. The successful candidate must be able to articulate a vision of teaching and learning, and health and wellbeing that meets the needs of our community.
