Required from September 2026, a permanent, full-time, excellent classroom practitioner and inspiring, enthusiastic leader to lead and develop the Mathematics Department in Glan-Y-Môr across the age and ability range. Glan-Y-Môr is a warm and inclusive school that has high expectations for learning and a commitment to professional learning for all. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and creative individual to lead the department, working alongside leaders across the Federation, as we continue to develop the best learning experience for our students.

We are looking for a well-qualified, inspirational and motivated Head of Mathematics who is keen to lead a dedicated and enthusiastic team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an outstanding practitioner to embrace the challenge of leading a department by working collaboratively to maximise the progress of all our pupils. The successful candidate would be expected to bring an innovative, dynamic and ambitious approach to the department and must demonstrate:
  • An ability to develop strategies for promoting effective teaching and learning
  • A successful track record of teaching Mathematics at GCSE
  • A sound understanding of recent educational developments and research relating to Mathematics in Wales.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • The ability to manage resources effectively
  • Evidence of raising standards
  • A commitment to supporting young people, of all abilities, in their development.
