About the Role
The Governing Body of Ysgol Cae'r Gwenyn wish to appoint a passionate, caring and enthusiastic Additional Learning Needs Teacher to join our team of friendly and professional staff who are committed to maintaining the strengths of our happy and successful school.

To teach and support the learning and assessment process and provision for children, aged 3 - 7, with Additional Learning Needs and the implementation of the ALN system in Ysgol Cae'r Gwenyn.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status

Desirable Qualifications
Evidence of further qualifications or working towards e.g. The National MA Education: Additional Learning Needs.
Accredited qualification / training in one or more of the following: Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction, TEACCH, AAC and Makaton signing.

Essential Experience
Direct and recent experience of working with children with Additional Learning Needs aged 3-7.

Desirable Experience
Experience of working with children with Speech, Language and Social Communication difficulties.

Essential Knowledge and Skills
Can demonstrate an excellent understanding of early childhood development.
A detailed knowledge of the ALN system including The ALN Code for Wales 2021.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills
Has attended training in approaches specifically relevant to children with ALN.
Previous experience of Trauma Informed Practice, play therapy or therapeutic practice.
