Teacher of Science (Biology Specialist)
Maternity Cover: September 2026 - 31 March 2027

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified Teacher of Science to teach across the full ability range at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach BTEC at Post-16. The ability to teach Biology is essential; the ability to teach another science discipline would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will join a large, vibrant and highly successful Science Department where practical science is at the heart of teaching and learning. The role will include delivering general Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Our Science Department consistently achieves high standards and excellent results at KS3, KS4 and A Level. We are committed to making Science engaging and accessible, reflected in the strong uptake of all three sciences at Advanced Level and the large number of students choosing Triple Science at GCSE. A significant proportion of our Sixth Form students progress to study STEM subjects at higher education level.

The department benefits from excellent facilities, providing an outstanding environment for both teaching and learning.

We are dedicated to providing challenging and engaging experiences for all pupils and are seeking an individual who is passionate about inspiring, motivating and challenging young people to achieve their full potential.

Located in Carmarthen, a vibrant market town on the edge of the picturesque Towy Valley (just 30 minutes from Swansea), our pioneering comprehensive school embodies the spirit of Caring, Learning, Leading . We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive environment where students thrive both academically and personally.

If you are eager to make a significant impact and inspire the next generation, we would be delighted to hear from you.
