We are looking for a highly skilled and committed Pupil Engagement Officer teacher to embrace an exciting opportunity to further develop bespoke provision for learners within Cysgod Y Coed (formerly the Monmouthshire Pupil Referral Service). Cysgod Y Coed is a growing service that is working alongside the Local Authority to continue to strive for excellence, in a provision that prioritises wellbeing. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to our service. The successful candidate will work with pupils who present social, emotional and mental health needs. Cysgod Y Coed is committed to developing the potential of all staff and pupils. A full programme of training and support helps foster the trauma-informed and restorative practice we know underpins sound pedagogy. The successful candidates will contribute significantly to supporting our pupils in an experienced, open and collaborative team. Our Pupil Engagement Officers: • Build trusting professional relationships with pupils, parents and carers, • Work effectively with teachers and others to discover what pupils can achieve. • Provide pupils with advocacy and enhance self-esteem. • Raise pupil aspirations and self-belief. • Promote wellbeing and good mental health. • Are trauma informed and restorative in their practice. • Deliver 1:1 and small group sessions with learners • Support learners to achieve a variety of different qualifications in liaison with CYC teachers and leaders

SALARY - IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Salary would be pro rata if not working full time hours or 52 weeks per year. i.e. 37 hours per week / 32.5 per week for School Teachers Temporary End Date (if applicable): 31/08/2028 Location: Monmouthshire Pupil Referral Unit South, Mathern, NP16 6LA, United Kingdom. This may change in the future if the service location needs to relocate. Relocation or disturbance expenses will not be paid if this happens.
