The Board of Governors invites applications from school leaders who can demonstrate a strong track record of success for the permanent, full-time post of Headteacher of Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA.
The only through-faith school in the county, Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA is a 3-16 Church in Wales school, that serves the historic city of St Davids, surrounding areas and wider Pembrokeshire. Based in the picturesque surroundings of the Pembrokeshire National Park, the school is a caring, inclusive and welcoming environment, where pupils and staff are proud of the Christian and community ethos. The school is based on three campuses in St Davids and Solva and has established strong links with the local community and has recently opened the first all-through Learning Resource Centre (LRC) in Pembrokeshire.
The successful applicant will work with a supportive governing body and a staff team which shares a strong commitment towards providing all pupils with high quality educational experiences within a supportive ethos. S/he will:
- demonstrate a strong commitment to the school's Christian ethos;
- share a compelling vision for education within an all-age school;
- promote the Welsh culture effectively and pupils' bilingual skills; and a willingness to engage with the bilingual nature of the local community;
- articulate high aspirations for our students, staff and parents;
- demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
