About the Role27.5 hours
Gwenfro CP School is seeking to appoint a caring and committed Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis within our Resource Provision. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a pupil who requires additional assistance to access learning and thrive within the school environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide individualised support tailored to the pupil's needs. The role focuses on helping the pupil engage in classroom activities, develop key skills, and build confidence and independence in their learning.
As part of this role, you will support the pupil during lessons and daily routines, adapt tasks and resources where needed, and help create a positive and inclusive learning experience. You will encourage participation, support social interaction, and help the pupil regulate emotions and behaviour when necessary. The role also involves working collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff, observing progress, and helping to implement strategies that support the pupil's individual development.
We are looking for someone who is patient, compassionate, and dedicated to supporting children with additional learning needs. The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff. Good communication skills and a calm, supportive approach are essential, as the role requires working closely with colleagues to ensure consistent and effective support.
If you are passionate about supporting children and making a meaningful difference in their education, we would welcome your application.
An Enhanced DBS & EWC registration is required for this position.
The Council welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, gender, disability, sexuality, religious belief or age.
The Council is committed to developing its bilingual workforce and welcomes applications from candidates who demonstrate their capability to work in both English and Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
