We currently have a vacancy for a Review Officer within our Work based learning (WBL) directorate.
The Review Officer will be required to administer the WBL contractual learner review process in accordance with the Welsh Government programme specification.
As a Review Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the learner journey, acting as both a mentor and a navigator for students working toward their vocational qualifications. Your primary focus will be providing high-quality pastoral support and conducting regular progress reviews to ensure every learner remains on track. By working closely with FE tutors and Work-Based Learning (WBL) practitioners, you will help students curate their portfolios, update Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and monitor milestones to ensure their educational path is both accurate and rewarding. Whether you are liaising with internal safeguarding teams or external stakeholders, your goal is to advocate for student success and ensure no learner is left behind.
This role demands a sharp eye for detail and proactive caseload management. By gathering learner feedback and continuously refining the support process, you will contribute directly to a culture of excellence and the successful achievement of learner outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills
- Currently holds a Level 2 Digital Literacy or is willing to work towards
- Advice & Guidance / Mentoring qualification minimum Level 2
- Experience of working in an administration support role
- Able to communicate fluently (both written and verbal) through the medium of Welsh
- Demonstrate a good level of IT competence. Must be able to navigate the Internet and Intranets as well as being willing to learn how to use new IT packages and systems
- Able to problem solve and make own low-level financial decisions within the constraints of Financial procedures and regulations
- Scrupulous level of attention to detail and the ability to cross-check data with accuracy
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
