We are looking for a Childcare Business Development Assistant to join our Childcare Team. The post holder will contribute to the council’s statutory duty to ensure sufficiency of childcare for parents who are in work, training or education.
You will offer advice and guidance to settings on CIW registration, policies and procedures and business planning. You will support the planning and delivery of training, CPD and engagements events for the childcare sector in RCT, via both face to face events and online platforms. You will contribute to the development of the Council’s Childcare Sufficiency Assessment, and have a key role in the promotion of the Childcare Offer for Wales, including supporting childcare providers to deliver the scheme.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of the childcare sector and CIW regulations, as well as offering advice and support to childcare organisations to improve their business practices. You will have experience of working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, such as childcare related organisations, childcare providers, parents and Local Authority personnel.
You will be highly motivated and proactive and able to work on your own initiative. You will be able to prioritise your workload to meet changing demands and deadlines.
The hours of work are 18.5 per week and may be worked in accordance with the Council’s flexible working hours' scheme. The post is based in the Valleys Innovation Centre, Abercynon however office days will consist of 2 per week on set days which include a Wednesday and Friday. This will be reviewed as and when applicable. The post is externally funded and temporary until 31st March 2027 in the first instance, with the possibility of extension after this date.
