Family Liaison Officer (Education)Job description
About the role:
Family Liaison Officers work with children, young people, and their families, in partnership with schools, the Local Authority and other agencies to provide an effective and quality service. This includes enhancing parental confidence and skills, supporting families to increase attendance, and developing programmes that support vulnerable learners and their families in leading a healthy and fulfilling life.
About you:
- Confidence and experience of engaging with learners and their families
- Ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships with families and empathise with their needs
- Ability to motivate families in addressing the difficulties they may face
- Ability to develop close links and work effectively with staff (from school, other agencies and organisations)
- Ability to be resourceful and able to solve problems
What you will do:
* Ensure an enthusiastic approach to supporting learners and their families
* Respond effectively to changing needs
* Use effective communication skills to build relationships with families and schools
* To support families in engaging with school life
* Liaise with a wide range of partners and outside agencies
