Monmouthshire local authority is seeking from September 2026, a dedicated and skilled Communication Support Worker (CSW) to support a D/deaf child in a Monmouthshire Secondary School.
This is a specialist role requiring proficiency in British Sign Language (minimum Level 3) and the ability to apply this expertise independently to support access to learning, communication, and full inclusion.
In addition to supporting an individual learner, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing inclusive communication practice across Monmouthshire, including contributing to workforce development and delivering deaf awareness, total communication and BSL-informed approaches.

SALARY - IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Salary would be pro rata if not working full time hours or 52 weeks per year.
i.e. 37 hours per week / 32.5 per week for School Teachers
Temporary End Date (if applicable):
Location: Chepstow School, NP16 5LR, United Kingdom. This may change in the future if the service location needs to relocate. Relocation or disturbance expenses will not be paid if this happens.
Term Time Only - Weeks per Year (if applicable): 39
