The College Merthyr Tydfil is seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal Quality who will play a pivotal role in delivering the College's vision and driving its ongoing journey to excellence. Joining a dynamic and high‑performing senior leadership team, the successful post holder will provide strategic leadership for quality assurance, improvement and performance across all areas of provision.Working closely with the Principal, Vice Principal Curriculum & Quality, Assistant Principals and the wider senior management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that teaching, learning, assessment and learner outcomes are consistently excellent. You will lead the development and implementation of robust quality assurance and improvement strategies, ensuring that all academic areas operate at or above national benchmarks and within agreed budgets.
This is a designated senior post and the post holder will act as the strategic lead for quality across the College. You will play a central role in shaping the College's Quality Strategy, Self‑Assessment Report and improvement planning, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and quality frameworks, including MEDR and awarding body requirements. A key element of the role will be the ability to identify risk early, intervene effectively and deliver sustained improvement.
The post holder will also represent the College at relevant external forums and work closely with partners, awarding bodies and stakeholders, advising the Principal and Board of Directors on external developments, risks, opportunities and areas of best practice. Strong leadership, analytical capability and the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation will be essential in fostering a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
