35-hour Full time Senior Childcare Worker Post
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Waun Wen Primary School's 'Little Petals' Flying Start setting.
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Childcare Worker to join our team. The applicant will need to have a number of years' experience working with under three's in a childcare setting, an excellent knowledge of child development and ideally knowledge of and experience working within a Flying Start setting.
The person will need to be hardworking, dedicated, adaptable and able to motivate and lead an experienced team of childcare staff. Experience of working with children with ALN, report writing, attending meetings and managing caseloads would also be desirable. The setting operates a child led learning pedagogy so being open to this way of working is essential.
Flying Start is a Welsh Government initiative, which seeks to offer support for targeted pre-school children and their families, living in designated areas of deprivation. Flying Start offers children access to high quality childcare as part of a multi-agency team approach, in order to improve outcomes in preparation for school and the long term.

It is a requirement of the post that the Senior Childcare Worker must work towards the attainment of the CCLD Level 5 (Advanced Practice), unless already achieved.
