About the RoleThe Governors of St Mary's Catholic Primary School invite applications from an excellent, enthusiastic and creative teacher to join our dedicated and forward-thinking team.
We are a very happy, caring and inclusive school community where every child is valued and supported to achieve their full potential. While being a practising Catholic is desirable, it is not essential.
The successful candidate will:
• Be an effective, innovative and reflective practitioner with experience of teaching in Key Stage 2
• Have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Curriculum for Wales
• Demonstrate high expectations for all learners and a commitment to raising standards
• Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that motivate and challenge pupils
• Use assessment information purposefully to track pupil progress and plan next steps in learning
• Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
• Demonstrate strong behaviour management rooted in positive relationships and consistent expectations
• Actively promote the school's ethos of inclusion, celebrating the rich diversity of our community
• Communicate confidently and professionally with children, colleagues, parents and external agencies
• Be highly competent in the use and development of digital technologies to enhance learning
• Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team, contributing to planning and moderation
• Create a classroom environment that is stimulating, purposeful and supportive of independent learning
• Be confident in delivering the Welsh curriculum and committed to promoting bilingualism
• Contribute to the wider life of the school
• Engage in ongoing professional learning, reflecting on practice and embracing new initiatives
• Demonstrate a secure understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and promote the wellbeing of all pupils
