Job Title: Lecturer in Essential Skills (Application of Number)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £21,137 - £41,599 per annum

Location: Cardiff and the Vale



Cardiff and Vale College are looking for an Essential Skills Lecturer based within our Sport, Tourism and Public Services Department.



The successful candidates will provide support for Essential Skills (Application of Number) to prepare learners for controlled assessments.



Other responsibilities include:



Undertaking of all pedagogic work such as classroom teaching (which includes workshop etc.), tutorial work associated with outreach, residential and open and distance learning courses and student placements;
Undertaking all organisational and administrative work associated with the above, preparation and marking;
Liaise and communicate effectively with relevant course tutors, ensure accuracy of qualification registration, ensure claims are submitted in accordance with College policies and procedures
Undertake relevant continuous professional development and training.




The successful candidate will be able to deliver Application of Number (and possibly Digital Literacy) across all levels to learners within the Sport, Tourism and Public Services Department. They must hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. The successful candidate must also hold a Maths degree and/or City and Guilds 8375 Certificate for Essential Skills Practitioners or equivalent at level 5 or be willing to work towards it.
