We currently have two vacancies within the Support Worker team, which provides wellbeing and educational support/guidance to pupils being supported by the Pupil Referral Unit. Maes Derw caters for around 150 pupils from across schools in Swansea aged between 5-16 years. All of our pupils have mental health, anxiety or social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). Recent and relevant experience of working with pupils who have social, emotional and behavioural needs is essential.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers will need to be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) from 1 April 2016.
The posts will be available to start in September 2026. As these posts are term time, they are subject to a term time only adjustment if the commencement of employment is outside of the academic year start and end date i.e. 1 September/31 August.
