Cardiff and Vale College is one of the largest colleges in the UK, committed to delivering high-quality education and training that transforms lives and supports our region's economic growth.We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Automotive Assessor to join our Work-Based Learning team.
About the role
You will be responsible for managing and assessing a caseload of learners undertaking automotive apprenticeship programmes, supporting them to achieve their qualifications, develop their skills and progress in their careers.
You will work closely with employers to ensure an outstanding learner experience, maintaining compliance with awarding body and contractual requirements while promoting work-based learning opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and assess a caseload of work-based learners
- Support learners to achieve their qualifications in a timely manner
- Monitor learner progress, carry out reviews and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with awarding body, quality assurance and contractual requirements
- Engage with employers to support learner development and identify new opportunities
- Contribute to meeting team and organisational performance targets
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of delivery
About you
You will have:
- Relevant automotive industry experience
- A recognised Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1, D32/33)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience of supporting learners or apprentices (desirable)
- A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
- A flexible approach, with the ability to work across sites
A teaching qualification (e.g. CertEd/PGCE) or willingness to work towards is desirable.

Additional information
This role will require travel and engagement with employers and learners across sites. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required
