An exciting opportunity is now available at Cardiff and Vale College for a Progress Coach - A Levels. The Progress Coach is responsible for supporting learners in a pastoral role, including target setting, motivation, and attitude to learning, while supporting the overall learner journey within an A Level environment.Additionally, you will:
- Support learners to achieve their goals, ensuring they are well prepared for progression to higher education, further study, or employment, and that high-quality destinations are achieved.
- Effectively address learner issues and concerns, including attendance, punctuality, motivation, and attitude to learning, promoting a positive and supportive culture.
- Conduct one-to-one meetings with allocated learners throughout the academic year, implementing appropriate interventions and target setting to address underperformance. A key focus will include monitoring attendance, communicating with parents/guardians, and maintaining ILPs, mark books, and other learner-focused records.
- Ensure the timely completion of all responsibilities through effective time management.
- Deliver high-quality personal development sessions that support the development of the skills and behaviours required for progression to higher education and other positive destinations.
- Ensure learners engage fully with the Personal Tutorial curriculum, completing activities and attending sessions relevant to their development.
- Support Learner Voice activity, ensuring participation in feedback processes, including representation through course representatives.
- Address learner behaviour concerns promptly, in line with college policies and procedures, implementing appropriate interventions and accurately recording actions taken.
We are looking for a Progress Coach who can demonstrate enthusiasm and a passion for supporting learners within an A Level setting. In your supporting statement, you should outline how you can support learners to succeed academically and progress to their next stage.

Whilst the ability to speak Welsh is not essential for the role, we would welcome applications from candidates who are fluent and able to engage with learners through the medium of Welsh.
