32.5 hours per week - term time only
Contract: Initially for one year
Grade 7: £30,024-£32,061 (Full time salary)
The salary for this role is pro rata the above, and is for 32.5 hrs per week / 39 weeks per annum (plus holiday entitlement) this is calculated at an hourly rate of £15.56 rising to £15.81 after six months, then incremental rises annual to a maximum of £16.61 (current payscale as of 02.09.2025)

Reporting to the Class Teacher, the ideal candidate will have an NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent, be confident in supporting lessons and be a good team player. Have a positive approach to behaviour support and considerable experience of working with young people with
complex learning, physical and behavioural needs.
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting pupils with complex and profound Additional Learning Needs (ALN) on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will work alongside the class teacher to offer a stimulating and effective learning environment for all pupils and implement positive behaviour strategies including sensory play/therapy, "Now & Next", distraction, and more. As the classes within this school are small, with the largest class consisting of 12 pupils, you will have the full support of the class teacher and at minimum 2 other teaching assistants. As you will be supporting complex ALN, you will closely monitor
pupils' complex behaviours and emotional states, adapting your approach to best suit the individual pupils.
