Duties include:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed PE Apprentice to join our friendly and successful primary school team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys sport and physical activity and wants to inspire children by being a positive sporting role model.
In this role, you will help organise and deliver fun, safe Health and Wellbeing sessions, including PE lessons and activities that promote both physical and mental health. You will support pupils in understanding the importance of staying active and looking after their wellbeing. You will also have opportunities to lead extra activities for small groups of pupils, as well as work as a teaching assistant within the classroom.
This is a full-time position, with working hours from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
For three days each week, you will deliver PE and Health and Wellbeing sessions, supported by teaching assistants, during the following times: 9:45am–12:00pm and 1:00pm–3:15pm.
The remaining two days will be more flexible. During this time, you may support teachers in the classroom or lead enrichment activities for small groups of pupils.
You will also be expected to lead a 30-minute group activity each day during lunchtime (12:30pm–1:00pm). In addition, you will run after-school extracurricular clubs on three days each week.
You will have 2 hours and 20 minutes of protected time each week for your own professional development.

Show confidence and initiative when planning PE and Health and Wellbeing sessions.
Work effectively with and organise support staff to help deliver PE and sports sessions.
Plan and lead safe, fun activities for small groups during playtimes, lunchtimes, and after-school clubs (e.g. dance, aerobics, or sports skills).
Be flexible and adaptable in your approach to working with pupils and staff.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience working with young people in a coaching or educational setting
Strong sporting background
Good organisational skills
Strong communication skills
