Part Time 26hrs (80%), Fixed Term until 31st August 2027
The Learning Community is seeking to appoint an ambitious and driven teacher of Health and Wellbeing based on our Secondary Campus to join and support the further development of our Discovery Curriculum area. We are particularly looking for a teacher of girls’ PE but, as the faculty encompasses PE; skills challenge; nutrition/catering; PSE; and health, social and child care, the ideal candidate will be able and keen to teach across some/all areas.
We are looking for someone who has vision, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and a passion for their subject area and whether newly qualified or an experienced teacher you will be fully supported by a highly motivated team.
The successful candidate will also be:
• A dynamic, inspirational and enthusiastic classroom practitioner with high expectations in the classroom.
• Fully committed to learning, high quality teaching and raising standards of all students.
• Passionate about the subject; able to motivate students and staff.
• Committed to ensuring all students reach their potential.
• Able to recognise opportunities and face challenges, whilst maintaining a sense of humour and care for young people.
• Capable of promoting partnerships and collaborative working.
• A role model for students and staff.
ALC is based in the town of Abertillery. It is comprised of a Secondary Campus and 3 Primary campuses, Six Bells Campus, Roseheyworth Rd Campus and Tillery St Campus.
