Cluster Teacher (Bro Caereinion Cluster)
Job description
Welsh language skills are essential

Full time Cluster Teacher from 1st September 2026 to 31st August 2027.

The post will be reviewed in July 2028.

Powys Local Authority is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed teacher who would relish the opportunity to work full-time across a cluster of Welsh medium primary schools and an all-age school in North Powys.

Your main base will be Ysgol Bro Caereinion, an all-age school that serves its community with pride and ambition. As an all-age provision, the school offers a unique and cohesive learning journey from early years through to secondary and post 16 education, fostering strong relationships and a shared sense of belonging among pupils and staff. The school is actively progressing along the Welsh language continuum, with a clear commitment to strengthening and embedding bilingualism across all aspects of school life.

At the heart of Ysgol Bro Caereinion is a clear and inspiring vision: to embed a strong, inclusive Welsh ethos where everyone belongs, shows self-respect and respect for others, and is ready to thrive and realise their full potential on the journey o'n Bro, i'r Byd.

Further benefits:
  • Opportunity to teach across multiple schools, age ranges, and contexts
  • Opportunities to collaborate and learn from different practitioners
  • To become a known and trusted member of the cluster community
  • Strengthen skills in language immersion and bilingual development
  • Contribute to a strong understanding of pupils' progression in Welsh
  • Opportunity to experience different school cultures and environments and observe excellent practice
  • Opportunity to engage in cluster wide enquiry and professional development
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent classroom practice, a willingness to foster our community links and an excellent understanding of the Curriculum for Wales. Applications will be considered from primary and secondary teachers with QTS.

Applications from NQTs are welcome and any NQT would be fully supported to complete their induction year by the local authority.
