Teacher of Hospitality and Catering/ Food and Nutrition (Maternity Cover)

Come and take a key role in a friendly and collaborative department in a successful all age school in one of the most beautiful settings in Wales.

Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA is a 3-16 Church in Wales school that serves the historic city of St Davids and surrounding areas. Based in the picturesque surroundings of the Pembrokeshire National Park, the school is a caring, inclusive and welcoming environment where pupils and staff are proud of the Christian and community ethos. The school has strong links with the local community where there are extensive opportunities for outdoor pursuits and social and cultural activities.

The school is looking to appoint a forward-thinking and innovative practitioner who is passionate about the curriculum changes taking place currently within Wales and would like the opportunity to translate these ideas into practice. Hospitality and Catering is an extremely popular subject within the school. Applications are most welcome and encouraged from both primary and secondary trained teachers who are willing to teach Food and Nutrition to year 9 and Hospitality and Catering at GCSE level. All teaching specialisms will be considered, and appropriate training will be provided as required. A willingness to also teach another subject would be desirable. The successful candidate will work primarily within the Science and Technology Area of Learning team.
