The Governing Body wish to appoint a Temporary Teacher to work at Park Lane Special School to complement our existing team.

Park Lane School is an established and highly regarded, growing special school which caters for pupils with severe learning difficulties, global developmental delay, profound and multiple learning disabilities and learners with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) aged 3yrs to 19yrs. Our school is a safe, happy learning environment in which everyone is encouraged to imagine, believe and achieve their full potential through high aspirations and a wealth of rich learning opportunities and experiences.

Due to a significant increase in pupil numbers and a change in the delivery of the curriculum in Wales, the Governing Body are seeking to appoint a specialist teacher (ages 3-7) with experience of teaching pupils with ALN particularly learners with ASD and global developmental delay.

Successful candidates need flexibility, empathy, and a sound understanding of high quality teaching and learning. They will be able to creatively adapt their teaching to appropriately meet the needs of individual learners within a range of age groups, environments and situations, and be able build positive professional relationships to help drive change constructively.

Successful candidates will have experience of applying person centred planning approaches to create engaging activities to meet the needs of all learners. The ability to manage change, problem solve and use high levels of initiative are essential.

Successful candidates will have a thorough knowledge of initiatives and strategies to support learners with ALN including learners with ASD and be able to build positive working relationships with pupils, parents and other agencies. They will have excellent communication skills and be able to lead and upskill a team to become enabling adults within an effective learning environment.
