Building Maintenance & Facilities Worker

Conwy County Borough Council

Salary: £10,395 - £10,561 per annum (Full Time: £25,989 - £26,403) (G03)

Work base: Pentrellyncymer Outdoor Education Centre

Pentrellyncymer Outdoor Education Centre is one of two residential Centres which make up the North Wales Outdoor Education Service. The Centre is situated near Llyn Brenig and Cerrigydrudon, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The Centre delivers a range of residential and day outdoor education courses for mostly primary aged students.

Due to the retirement of the long-standing previous manager, we have now split the maintenance post between the two centres and are looking for someone to take on the role of facilities worker at Pentrellyncymer Centre. The postholder will manage the day-to-day maintenance function at Pentrellyncymer Outdoor Education Centre. This includes ensuring the site is safe, well maintained and fit for purpose, supporting its continued use for educational and community activities. The role involves regular monitoring and maintenance of specialist systems at the centre, including water systems, heating systems, heritage features and monuments, and vehicles.

Some qualifications / experience in relation to buildings and vehicle management should be held, together with the ability to drive a minibus (D1+E licence). The post is 14.8 hours per week, with an expectation to split that over 2 to 4 days of the week. The exact working pattern to be agreed by the Head of Centre. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable.
