The Governors of Ysgol Bro Penfro are delighted to invite applications for the position of Assistant Headteacher.

Ysgol Bro Penfro is a thriving, happy and inclusive Welsh-medium primary school in the historic town of Pembroke. Our children are at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud of the warm, supportive community we have created together with our families, staff and governors.
As Assistant Headteacher, you will become an integral member of our Leadership Team, working alongside the Executive Headteacher and committed colleagues who share a clear vision of achieving the very best outcomes for every learner. You will have the opportunity to influence whole-school improvement, develop innovative practice and play a key role in shaping the future direction of our school.
We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who have high expectations for themselves and others, experience and enthusiasm for developing literacy, and developing leadership at all levels, as these are key priorities within our School Development Plan.
The role will include:
- Leading Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision as the school's ALNCo.
- Driving high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum development across the school.
- Playing a central role in the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the school.
- Promoting the wellbeing of pupils and staff while building strong partnerships with parents and the wider community.
- Maintaining a teaching commitment that keeps you connected to classroom practice.
- Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations for every learner.
- Is an inspiring and compassionate leader who motivates, empowers and supports others.
- Has a genuine passion for improving outcomes for all children, including those with additional learning needs.
- Values working in partnership with families and the wider community.
- Is creative, forward-thinking and committed to continuous improvement.
- Has the vision, resilience and enthusiasm to help lead our school into the future
