Cardiff and Vale College is seeking an enthusiastic and industry-focused Lecturer in Engineering to join our Engineering team.This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of engineers by delivering high-quality teaching across a range of Engineering programmes from Level 1 to Level 5. You will play a key role in helping learners develop the knowledge, technical skills and confidence required to progress into higher education or employment within the engineering sector. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to curriculum development and support innovation within a growing and evolving department.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging learning experiences, assessing learner progress and providing the support required to help students achieve their full potential. You will contribute to course development, quality improvement activities and the wider success of the Engineering department.
Working closely with colleagues and industry partners, you will help ensure our curriculum remains relevant, responsive and aligned to current industry practices. The role may also involve teaching within community venues and supporting College activities outside of normal working hours where required.
About You
You will be passionate about engineering education and committed to helping learners succeed. Whether you are an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into teaching, you will have strong technical knowledge and the ability to engage and motivate learners.
You will hold an Engineering qualification at Degree or HND level, together with a PGCE or a willingness to work towards one. You will have relevant industry experience, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding learner experience. A willingness to contribute to curriculum development and embrace innovative approaches to teaching and learning is essential.
