Are you a qualified and passionate Play Therapist with a commitment to supporting children and young people through therapeutic interventions? Pembrokeshire Learning Centre is looking for a full-time Play Therapist to join our dedicated and dynamic team to work with students aged 5-16 who require additional emotional and psychological support.

At Pembrokeshire Learning Centre, we provide a nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to thrive, and we believe in the power of therapeutic interventions to help children overcome emotional barriers to learning and development. As our Play Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping students navigate and manage their emotions, ultimately supporting their academic success and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group play therapy sessions tailored to meet the emotional needs of students.
• Develop and implement therapeutic plans based on assessments, collaborating with teaching staff and other professionals.
• Build trusting relationships with students to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
• Work closely with parents, carers, and school staff to provide updates and share strategies for supporting students' emotional wellbeing.
• Attend meetings and contribute to the development of care plans for students with complex needs.
• Monitor and assess the progress of students, adjusting therapy approaches as necessary.

Ideal Candidates Will:

• Hold a Play Therapy qualification (minimum of Level 4 or equivalent) and be registered with a professional body such as PTUK or BACP.
• Have experience working with children and young people, ideally in a school or therapeutic setting.
• Possess a deep understanding of child development and therapeutic techniques.
• Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting students' emotional and psychological growth.
• Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
