Lead Practitioner - Welsh Language and EqualityJob description
37 hours per week
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Lead Practitioner - Welsh Language and Equality to support and stimulate the confident use of the Welsh language among teaching staff and learners throughout the organisation, while also promoting the principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
We are looking for someone committed to developing confidence, breaking down barriers (both psychological and practical), and encouraging increased use of the Welsh language through creative, supportive and learner‑centred approaches. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for promoting the Welsh language and equality, and the flexibility to work collaboratively to contribute positively to a dynamic bilingual culture.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of language acquisition, experience of supporting staff at different levels, and the ability to make the Welsh language accessible, relevant and practical in everyday teaching, learning and workplace contexts.
You must have either an A Level or Level 3 qualification in Welsh or a related subject.
Requirements & Compliance
- Safeguarding: Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration (costs covered by the candidate).
- Qualifications: Lecturers must hold or be willing to achieve a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) within a set period.
