Lecturer - Vehicle Body & Refinishing

Salary: £26,389 - £51,934 per annum dependent on qualification and experience

Cardiff and Vale College is seeking an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Lecturer in Automotive Engineering - Body Repair to join our Automotive Engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop the next generation of automotive professionals, delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Body Repair and Paint programmes up to Level 3. Working within a supportive and innovative department, you will help learners develop the technical knowledge and practical skills required to progress into employment or further study.

What You'll Do

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons and practical workshop activities, assess learner progress and provide meaningful support to help students achieve their goals. You will contribute to curriculum development, course evaluation and quality improvement activities while maintaining accurate learner records and supporting the wider work of the department.

You will also work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and external partners to help promote Automotive Engineering programmes and support learner progression and achievement.

About You

You will have recent industry experience within automotive body repair and paint together with a passion for developing future talent within the sector. You will hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Body Repair or Paint and ideally possess a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a student-focused approach and the ability to deliver engaging learning experiences in both classroom and workshop environments. Recent teaching experience and knowledge of modern accident repair processes would be advantageous.
