The Governing Body wish to appoint a Site Manager to work at Maesybryn Primary School to complement our existing team.

Maesybryn Primary School occupies a large site at the heart of Llantwit Fardre. The school has approximately 300 pupils including a full-time nursery and two local authority classes for children with autism and other communication disorders. We benefit from extensive grounds, forest area, pond and a range of play areas. Our buildings are bright and engaging and we have great pride in our learning environments and were praised by Estyn in their inspection in November 2025. Due to the retirement of our site manager of over 25 years, we wish to appoint somebody to this important role who can add to our excellent team and maintain our school to the standards we expect.

Main duties include ensuring site security and safety, maintaining the building and outside areas to a high standard, liaising with contractors, ensuring that fire and water safety is maintained, disposing of waste appropriately, dealing with emergencies (including out of hours alarm calls),general cleaning and handyman duties, maintaining equipment and porterage. Reference should be made to the for this post.

We are looking for a skilled person to fulfil these duties in a professional manner within a primary school environment. Ideally we would hope to employ a person with experience of basic handyman tasks, knowledge of health and safety regulations, child safeguarding experience, initiative and an ability to work within a team. Good communication skills and a willingness to learn new skills would also be beneficial.
