Head of Numeracy - Croesyceiliog School

Torfaen Local Authority

Salary: MPS \/ UPS + TLR 2C

Croesyceiliog is looking for an inspiring Head of Numeracy and Associate Head of Mathematics to join our dedicated team of professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a strong and experienced faculty in a highly ambitious school which is wholly focused on providing every opportunity for pupils to perform to their very best.

The successful candidate shall be responsible for the development of Numeracy across the curriculum, academic and teaching standards and pupil progress and outcomes within the area of learning experience as defined within the new Curriculum for Wales 2022.

Within our Mathematics, Numeracy and Digital Technology AoLE team there is a wealth of experience, good practice and commitment which prides itself on striving for excellence and high standards. We have one Leader of Faculty who leads the Mathematics and Numeracy department as well as Digital Technology and a team of ten specialist teachers of mathematics. We believe in collaboration and sharing of ideas to develop professional expertise to enhance the learning experiences of our pupils.

We seek an enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated colleague to make a positive contribution to the Mathematics, Numeracy and Digital Technology Faculty, committed to evidence-based practice with a firm belief in the mathematical potential of every child. We fully believe that if a pupil can't do something that is either because they lack the pre-requisite knowledge, or they haven't received the right explanation yet. Our aim at Croesyceiliog is to imbue pupils with our ethos of 'Learning, Respect and Ambition' so that all young people can achieve their full potential.

Our recent Estyn inspection report can be found here .

We would also like to offer two opportunities to visit the school which would be 4pm on Wednesday 16th and Tuesday 22nd September. Please contact the headteacher's PA, Mrs Vicky Meddick via info@croesy.schoolsedu.org.uk if you would like any more information or to arrange to visit.
