5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

We are looking to appoint a new Midday Supervisory Assistant to work as a key member of the wider school team whose purpose is to keep children safe, support their wellbeing and promote positive behaviour during lunchtime, ensuring that this important part of the school day runs smoothly and contributes positively to pupils' overall school experience.

What will you be doing?

Safeguard pupils during lunch breaks, both in the dining hall and on the playground.
Promote positive behaviour, social interaction and inclusion among pupils.
Support children's wellbeing and ensure they are safe and happy during unstructured times.
Manage minor incidents, accidents and disputes, referring more serious concerns to teaching staff or school leaders.
Encourage good manners, healthy eating habits and respect for school rules.
Help ensure a smooth transition between lunchtime and afternoon lessons.
In essence, the Midday Supervisory Assistant helps create a calm, safe and supportive environment so that pupils are ready to learn when they return to class.

Although lunchtime may appear to be a break from learning, it is a crucial part of a child's school experience where social, emotional and behavioural development takes place.

An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role.
