We are seeking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our experienced, dedicated and supportive staff team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to gain experience in a secondary school environment.
The successful candidate will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students remain engaged in learning activities and maintain high standards of behaviour and conduct.
Key responsibilities
• Supervise whole classes during the absence of teachers.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.
• Support students to remain focused and complete set work.
• Record attendance and provide feedback to teaching staff as required.
• Promote a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Is confident managing groups of young people aged 11-16.
• Has strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Remains calm, professional and adaptable in a busy school environment.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
