We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused Community Coach to join our team based at Eastern High.This is a varied and rewarding role where you will act as an important link between the College, Eastern High and the wider community. You will build strong relationships with young people, adult learners, families and community partners, helping to increase engagement, identify local needs and create opportunities that make a positive difference.
Working collaboratively with colleagues at Eastern High, teams across the College and external partners, you will support learners and families to overcome barriers to engagement while helping to grow adult learning and wider community opportunities.
What You'll Do
You will take a proactive approach to engaging with the local community, building relationships and developing activities and opportunities that respond to local needs.
The role will include:
- Building relationships with learners, families, schools, community organisations and external partners.
- Planning and facilitating activities to engage and motivate young people and adult learners.
- Supporting the development and promotion of adult learning opportunities within the community.
- Coordinating community, enrichment and wellbeing activities and supporting learner engagement events.
- Acting as a key link between and Eastern High.
You will also help ensure that the voices of learners, staff, families and the wider community influence the opportunities and support available.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and is confident building positive relationships across a diverse community.
You will have experience of working with young people and adult learners who may be at risk of disengaging from education, training or employment, along with experience of working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners. Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.
You will be qualified to Level 3 or have relevant experience and hold a Learning Coach, Youth Work or Community qualification. You will also need a driving licence and access to a car, as the role involves working across College sites and within the community.

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis to cover a period of secondment within the department, ending 5 February 2027.
