Senior Compliance and Mentoring Officer (Work Based Learning)

Gower College Swansea
You will contribute to the full compliance of the College’s Work Based Learning contract specifications in both Wales and England ensuring with the English Contract, liaison with employers advising and guiding on their ESFA levy account requirements including supporting them with updating and maintain funding records and where relevant managing apprenticeship levy accounts on the employer’s behalf.

You will play a lead role within the Contract Compliance team providing comprehensive support and WBL mentoring to WBL practitioners, teams and delivery partners (College Departments and External Sub-Contractors) to ensure effective practice and promote sector leading practice.

You will be the College’s Smart Assessor Champion, providing training & mentoring programmes embedding an ethos of continuous improvement and professional development

With a Level 3 Assessor Award or equivalent and a Level 4 qualification or above in Business Administration or a relevant discipline, you will also possess a PGCE/Cert.Ed or equivalent initial training qualification and Level 2 (Grade A-C) or equivalent Maths and English qualification.

You will have knowledge of setting up and maintaining accurate administration systems.

With experience of developing internal and external team members, challenging poor practice when necessary, you will have a proven track record of delivering high quality apprenticeship programmes.

You will have knowledge and experience of using e portfolio and WBL delivery and an understanding of external inspection processes.

With leadership qualities you will be able to communicate complex processes simply and clearly, developing excellent working relationships and diplomatically managing challenges.
