The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed Deputy Headteacher to work as part of a highly motivated and experienced team in taking the school forward in the next stage of its development. Rhigos Primary School is a very good school that is continually striving for excellence. The successful candidate will be passionate about developing all aspects of the school and will have the ability to motivate and develop staff in a team which prides itself as having the child at the heart of everything that it does. The successful candidate will work closely with the governors, head teacher and staff and help us deliver an excellent education for all our children.

Rhigos Primary School is in the village of Rhigos, approximately 7 miles from the town of Aberdare.
The school provides a nurturing environment for 65 pupils aged 3 – 11.

We are looking for a deputy head who has:

• A belief that all children can achieve
• A clear understanding of excellent teaching and learning
• An excellent classroom practitioner who is equally passionate about the emotional and academic development of every child in their care and ensuring that all children reach their potential.
• A commitment to lead and work
• Has a thorough understanding of supporting children with additional learning needs and a passion for inclusion
• Undertake the role of ALNCO
• Innovative and knowledgeable with a clear vision and confidence to lead the school’s vision for the Curriculum for Wales, with a focus on whole school development
• Values partnerships with parents, carers, the community and other partners and embody the village ethos and sense of community
• Is passionate about involving the whole school community in the life of the school;
• Has a successful track record of leading whole school initiatives and raising standards;
