Hours: 32.5 hours per week – Term Time Only

Salary: Grade 6 – £22,129 x 76.82%

The Governing Body wish to appoint a Pupil/Family Engagement Officer to work at Cymmer Primary School to complement our existing team.

Cymmer Primary is a happy and successful primary school with a strong caring and inclusive ethos. We value each and every member of our school community, recognising the importance of well-being. The school currently has 232 pupils on roll split across 10 classes.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, articulate, resourceful and effective individual with previous experience of delivering effective provision and dynamic support to children and families. This outstanding practitioner will work in close partnership with families and professionals to deliver a wide range of services which meet the needs of our pupils. You will provide advice and support to vulnerable pupils and their families as well as having responsibility for safeguarding and attendance.

This is a newly created post and the appointed post-holder will be able to nurture and develop this role within a supportive team of professionals. The successful candidate will:

• Be caring and put the wellbeing of our pupils and families first;
• Support pupils and families to ensure regular attendance;
• Use initiative to set up and organise family learning and support groups;
• Be flexible, reliable and patient and exhibit a calm, professional manner at all times;
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with our parents and carers, members of our Governing Body and our wider community;
• Be able to effectively use ICT/Digital Learning;
• Support families by referring and working with outside agencies and other professionals;
• Creatively accessing funding streams to further support pupils and families.
