TEACHING ASSISTANT (LEVEL 2)

HOURS: 27.5 HOURS

SALARY: GRADE 4 - £19,650 X 65%

START DATE: As soon as possible

Caegarw Primary School is situated in the small village of Caegarw in Mountain Ash, Rhondda Cynon Taff. The School is forward thinking and has high expectations and ambitions. There are good transport links to the school and the school is situated just a short drive from the Abercynon A470 roundabout. There is also a train station within short walking distance to the school.

Our school offers a welcoming warm and caring ethos where pupils feel safe and happy and make excellent progress. Staff and pupils are motivated by positive learning experiences. We have a highly supportive Governing Body and school community.

We are looking to appoint a highly committed and enthusiastic practitioner who will:

• Support the learning of pupils in both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 classes under the supervision and guidance of the class teacher.
• Work 1-1 and in group situations with targeted pupils across the school.
• Work as part of strong team.
• Have good interpersonal skills and be able to work flexibly and constructively as part of a team.
• Have experience of working with primary age children.
• Possess a sound understanding of the Curriculum for Wales.
• Be able to appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
• Be prepared to participate in professional development and training opportunities.
• Be able to work under the direction of the class teacher to ensure high quality learning takes place.
• Work sensitively with parents to ensure the well-being of all pupils.
• Ensure confidentiality at all times and procedures are adhered to.
