WELSH LANGUAGE IMMERSION SUPPORT ASSISTANT (2 POSTS)

Location – Ty Trevithick as a base/peripatetic

Hours: 32½ per week - Term-time only

Salary – Grade 6, £22,129 x 76.82%

Post Start Date – January 2023 until March 2025 – Externally Funded – There is potential for this post to be extended beyond this date

Rhondda Cynon Taf wish to appoint a Welsh language Immersion Support Assistant to work at Ty Trevithick and peripatetically throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf to complement our existing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the new immersion team being established within the Primary Achievement Team of the Education Department. This post will work under the guidance of the Welsh Language Immersion Teacher to effectively deliver a peripatetic model of Welsh language immersion provision in Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough.

The successful candidate will support learners who are latecomers to the Welsh language and Welsh medium education, or those currently in Welsh medium education and requiring additional targeted support with their language acquisition.

This role is integral to delivering the outcomes included within Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Welsh in Education Strategic Plan (WESP) and will support the commitments outlined in Cymraeg 2050: A million Welsh speakers.
